ACCA Revision Options

// Students are often confused as to what options papers they should take once they have reached the final stages of the ACCA qualification so here are some thoughts to mull over. //

// P4 – Advanced Financial Management
(Wolf of Wall St.)
This is the hardest paper on the ACCA qualification by a long way, we would only advise sitting this if you got at least 65% in F9 and you loved it:) It’s very specialised and of masters finance level so not for the faint hearted. Do this if you want to work on Wall St.

// P5 – Advanced Performance Management
(Tiger of TQM)
Builds on F5 and P3 but not as technically difficult as P4 so definitely a slightly easier option but still difficult (pass rates are often as low as 30%). Do this if you want to be a management accountant.

// P6 – Advanced Taxation
(Aardvark of add-backs)
Requires F6 knowledge to be updated because tax keeps changing (annoying!) but although the syllabus is massive it is not so difficult if you work in practice and have experience in tax. Much underrated paper. Do this if you want to work in practice.

// P7 – Advanced Audit and Assurance
(The Sheep in Wolf’s Clothing)
This sounds like a nightmare but actually with good exam technique is the easiest to pass. No calculations but does require P2 knowledge of IFRS standards. Do this if you like ‘wordy’ papers and want to bore people at parties – joking…auditors are fun:)

Happy Choosing!
